Full Job Description

You will work alongside our small team in a modern community pharmacy as an Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant. We will support you to gain experience and confidence in assisting patients with medication and self care advise. You will learn how to process and dispense medication under the supervision of a pharmacist.

    With a qualification as a Pharmacy Assistant with retail experience you will have a choice of how you would like to progress. Perhaps furthering with a NVQ3 Dispenser. Continuing in retail or moving into a hospital or other healthcare setting., Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Presentation skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4-9) Desired

  • GCSE or equivalent MATHS (Grade 4-9) Desired

    Tell us about your organisation: Cranbrook Healthcare Ltd comprises a single Independently owned Pharmacy situated in the growing new Town of Cranbrook just outside Exeter. We have a lovely modern purpose built premises. Our patients comprise a lot of young families and we love to support them by engaging with the local community. Their is a GP practice locally and we work very closely with them.

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
    Minimum Wage Rates
  • Working week

  • Monday afternoon 2pm - 6pm Tuesday - Friday 9am - 6pm (1hour and a half break). Alternate Saturdays 9am - 1pm.,
  • Using the shop till

  • Dealing with over the counter and telephone queries

  • Stock management

  • Processing prescriptions

  • Date checking of stock

  • General shop maintenace, You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience. This could be relevant:
