Full Job Description

As a painting and decorating apprentice, youll be learning from your team of expert colleagues, attending college training, and getting the chance to practice what you have learned on the job. Youll also get to spend time in our bespoke Training Academy under the guidance of expert tutors whose purpose will be to give you all the tools required to for you to excel in your new career.

  • The company was formed over 145 years ago in Shipley, West Yorkshire. Since then, the Bagnalls Group of Companies has become renowned in the UK for its ability to undertake contracts successfully in any location, of any size, nature, or duration with the personal service that one expects from a firm now in its fifth generation.

    Bagnalls outstanding reputation has been achieved and maintained through a succession of experienced managers and staff, working together with a well-trained team of directly employed operatives and apprentices.

    Pay (as of 31.05.2024):

    Year one £253.30 per week
    Year two £302.64 per week, or the National Minimum Wage for age.
    Year three £352.95£451.62 per week, dependent on college progress.

    Following completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship course, plus sufficient time to apply experience on-site (normally up to one year after completion), our basic pay is £14.46 per hour (£29,325 per annum). We also offer opportunities to earn a bonus.

    Here at Bagnalls we believe along with the best training you also need the best quality kit and equipment. That is why all our Apprentices and staff receive everything they will need to become masters in their craft free of charge.

    This includes:

    A fully stocked tool bag on day 1 of your Painting and Decorating apprenticeship.
    Branded workwear including T-Shirts and overalls.
    Personal protective equipment including safety boots and hard hat.
