Full Job Description

Repair and Maintenance of Computer Systems including IT equipment. The apprentice's main responsibilities will include handling first line support calls from the Helpdesk system currently in use, along with providing IT support both remotely and on site at client's locations. Additional duties will include developing new hardware systems, installing software packages, creating and maintaining computer networks (server & client).

Identifying any problems that affect computer operating systems, desktop and server, as well as other peripheral devices such as printers, Interactive Whiteboards, etc...

Skills in IT systems to support then analyse, including strong problem-solving skills, sound technical knowledge and the ability to develop good, interpersonal relationships.

Continuation of college-based learning required with regular visits from an outside source to monitor progress working towards vocational qualifications.

This is a dynamic role and must develop to meet the needs of the business. As such the successful candidate must be flexible with the desire to learn and progress and will be given training in the following skills areas:

  • Microsoft Windows 10/11

  • Microsoft Windows Server - All Versions

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Microsoft Office (All versions)

  • VMware & Hyper-V

  • Networking LAN/WAN - TCP/IP

  • Peripheral Maintenance

  • Good knowledge and interest of general computing required.

    Main Purpose of Job:

    To provide IT Support to customers of CoRE Support Ltd, specifically Schools and Local Businesses, ensuring systems are maintained and supported to the highest standards. Work will be undertaken in accordance with Service Level Agreements and as required by the Technical Director.
