advanced nurse practitioner

Colne Medical Centre are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced advanced nurse practitioner to join our friendly team in our well-established practice in the village Brightlingsea. The position is for 2-4 days per week.

The successful applicant will be an autonomous practitioner able to work independently and in conjunction with other health care professionals to:

• Manage daily surgeries, telephone consultations and telephone triage.


• Be part of practice 'on call' team.


• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with a range of acute and non-acute medical conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.


• Prescribe medication as defined by current legislative framework and practice policy.


• Visit patients either in their own home or in a care home environment.
  
  Applicants must be prescribers and have excellent communication and IT skills, be flexible and a team player. Salary depending on experience., Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC.


• Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience.


• Post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in specialty area.


• Evidence of on-going CPD.


• Advanced clinical assessment skills.


• Excellent communication skills.


• Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations,


• Sound clinical reasoning & decision making.


• Flexibility.


• Ability to inspire and lead a team.
