Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior lead Dietician to join our dedicated NELFT London All Age Community Eating Disorder service based within North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The service provides the latest in evidence based NICE concordant psychological interventions to children, young people and their families and adults with an Eating Disorder. The team's multi-disciplinary approach to the assessment and treatment of individuals with an eating disorder is a real strength., This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
COVID-19 Vaccination
We continue to encourage all staff to ensure that they have been double vaccinated and received their booster. We recognise that taking the vaccine provides the best defence against COVID 19 for our patients, our staff and their families., The post holder will be encouraged to take on a leadership role supported by the Senior Management Team, Service Manager and Clinical Lead. The post holder will join a well-established eating disorder service. The post holder will be required to assess and manage service users who present with an eating disorder. The post holder will be a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and have support of other team members in the management of these cases. As the service is exclusively an outpatient service, the post holder will not hold an inpatient service user case load, but the post holder will offer liaison role with our specialist in patient units (SEDUs) or local Acute Trusts in order to maintain joint working and smooth transition into and out of in patient service user beds. The post holder would be expected to provide dietetic supervision and leadership of dieticians within the eating disorders team. The post holder would be expected to use their
clinical expertise to recommend on dietetic transformation plans to develop the dietetic offer to children, young people and adults within the geographical offer; this includes the clinical expertise development to support of new and proposed pathways within the service's transformation plan E.gARFIDs. The post holder will be expected to attend and participate in MDT team meetings as well as CPA meetings of cases on their case load.
North East London NHS Foundation Trust All-Age Eating Disorders Service is based in Barking. We have a strong focus on training and research and team members benefit from excellent training and CPD opportunities. We have well developed links with NHSE and access to up-to-date training within transformation therapies and Leadership.
