Advanced Clinical Practitioner Trainee

Work under supervision to learn to provide autonomous expert clinical practice in clinical clerking of the patient on arrival to the unit including assessment, diagnosis and development of medical treatment plans, for a range of patients with acute, non-acute, and chronic medical conditions. This will include analysis of symptoms, initiation of interventions i.e. IV cannulation and ordering of diagnostic tests and x-rays as required, then interpret and adjust treatment regimens as appropriate. Work under supervision to learn to recognise the rapidly deteriorating patient and provide clinical interventions and prescribe the medical management plan according to clinical needs. Makes clinical decisions on transfer of acutely unwell patients, and liaises with receiving medical team.
