Full Job Description

Handling enquiries both within and outside the office relating to Estate interests such as purchase enquiries, boundary disputes, maintenance of public rights of way, highway issues etc.

- Being the first point of contact for visitors/contractors etc to the Estate Office.

- General typing, including letters and agreements.

- Answering the telephone and directing enquiries as necessary.

- Sale, production and administration of fishing & horse-riding permits.

- Supporting the Estate Manager with general estate management duties, including liaison with staff, tenants, general public etc.

- Handling enquiries and managing access to the various follies, including private visits.

- Administrating and keeping in check office supplies and stationery.

- Maintaining and administering Estate paper and digital records, including deeds system, wayleaves and general filing.

- Research into historic sales and lettings.

- Archiving historic and ended tenancies, as well as management of the Estate archives.

- Typing up and arranging programmes for various Estate activities.

- Assisting colleagues with IT related issues.

- Assisting with digital mapping using GIS systems (training will be provided).

- Minute taking for both internal and external appointments.

- Assistance with administration of meetings and associated refreshments.

Experience in a similar role would be advantageous, in particular property management or experience working in a rural environment.

Experience using digital mapping is desirable but not crucial.

Essential :

IT skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

Full driving licence and own car.

Excellent organisational skills, including a keen eye for accuracy.

Personal Qualities:

Good communication skills with a friendly and polite manner, flexibility and ability to balance conflicting interests and prioritise work. A willingness to learn and ability to work independently as well as part of a small team are essential. The appointee needs to be trustworthy and conscientious with a practical and balanced common-sense approach to achieving high standards with a keen attention to detail.,

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Administrative experience: 2 years (preferred)
