Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring and adaptable Achievement Support Assistant to support teaching and learning in our school. The post will involve general classroom support as well as providing support to groups and individual pupils. The contracted hours include one hour outside of school hours to run an after school club/activity.,

  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.

  • Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities where appropriate.

  • Support the academic, social and emotional development of individuals and groups of pupils.

  • Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate the progress of individuals and groups of pupils.

  • Deliver 1:1 programmes including phonics (RWI), maths and guided reading.

  • Provide specialist support and liaise with external agencies when required.

    Hours: 31 hours per week, term-time only (190 days)

  • Grade: 4, spinal column points 5 - 7
    Salary: £16,553 - £17,112 per annum (actual salary)
