Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team for an 8-month Maternity leave cover fixed term contract to the end of October 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing various tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, confident telephone manner, and the ability to work independently.,

  • To maintain the Purchase Ledger ensuring that suppliers are paid in accordance with the agreed terms of trade and that the accounts and records are kept accurately.

  • Produce month end reconciliations of key control accounts.

  • To process expenses in a timely manner and prepare payment runs.

  • Assist in maintaining the Sales Ledger, including Credit Control, raising invoices and credit limit management.

  • To carry out sundry Accounts Office duties as required.

    GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English (Grade C/4 or above)

  • AAT or similar - desired

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance

  • At least 2 years recent Accounts Office experience

  • Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing

  • The ability to work as part of a team

  • The ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent numeracy skills

  • Intermediate level MS Excel and Word

  • Experience of Accounting Software

    £14 an hour - Temporary contract
