Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Account Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintaining Financial Records: Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and efficiently using accounting software or spreadsheets. This includes but is not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and journal entries.

2. Reconciling Accounts: Perform regular reconciliation of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.

3. Assisting with Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, expense reports, and payments in a timely manner. Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely collections. Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies.

4. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide support during audits and financial reviews as needed.

5. Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on analysis findings.

6. Compliance and Regulation: Stay informed about relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and internal policies.

7. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed, including filing documents, responding to inquiries, and assisting with special projects.

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

2. Experience: Have at least 1 year of prior experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles is a must. Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.

3. Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail are essential. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

4. Integrity: Demonstrated commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.

5. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

6. Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

7. Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data and draw meaningful insights to support decision-making processes.

8. Time Management: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
