Full Job Description

Kobre & Kim are looking for immediately available students who have completed their second year of their law degree. The internship would suit someone seeking work experience over the summer months in a law firm. The internship will give the opportunity to work closely with our in-house team of lawyers who assist in firm management and advising the firm on risk and legal matters. The work performed by the intern will be focused on the procedures the in-house team manages to implement risk management at Kobre & Kim.
This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional legal environment. This opportunity will not lead to a full-time offer and is designed to be a summer internship.
The internship will be a full-time position, working Monday to Friday with three days per week in the office.

The Legal Department does not work for the firm's clients and you would not be working on cases but supporting the Legal Department's function at Kobre & Kim.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the firm's general counsel, legal department, and attorneys to assist case teams with risk management.

  • Conduct research using various internal and external resources.

  • Assist on ad hoc projects required by the legal department.

  • Assist with administrative work in relation to the running of a legal department.

    Completed their 2nd year of a university undergraduate degree in Law on target for a 2:1 grade.

  • Tech-savvy and working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability and desire to conduct research tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.

  • Desire to learn on the job about the running of a legal team in an international law firm.

  • Candidates will be expected to be in the office 3 days per week.
