Full Job Description

The general responsibility of the IT Team is to provide end-user and back-end support for most computerized systems in use across the company. Additionally, it is expected to lead or contribute on project related work.

The 1st Line IT Support shall:

  • Provide on-site and remote end-user support on computing related queries, striving to meet service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Ensure back-end systems are maintained, updated, and supported. These include, but are not limited to, servers, networking equipment, anti-virus, and cloud-based systems.

  • Provide end-user training, and update relevant training material, for any new systems, updates to existing systems.

  • Lead or support on projects, to improve on existing business processes and/or existing infrastructure.

  • There may be the occasional need to support users outside of standard office hours, to provide effective emergency support to global subsidiaries where required.

  • Continually strive to improve existing IT knowledge, including additional qualifications.

  • Ensure that all Tristel H&S procedures and policies are implemented and adhered to with respect to the IT department, and work in conjunction with the H&S Head in implementing the Tristel H&S Management System

  • Ensure that all requirements of national and international standards and legislation are implemented and adhere to with respect to the department, to include ISO 13485:2016/EN ISO 13485:2016, ISO 9001:2015 and MDSAP and others/updates as applicable

    Communicate (the ability to establish a connection with people at every level and both understand and be understood)


  • Competency (specialist qualification/experience/knowledge)

    Organisation (the ability to work on multiple projects at once)

    Humility (the ability to listen, admit mistakes, have empathy)

    Strategic thinking (analysis of critical factors and variables that will influence long-term success), No formal qualifications. However, at least 2 years previous IT Support experience, bachelor's degree in computing related subject, or IT related certifications would be advantageous.
