Hoveton & Wroxham Medical Centre is looking to welcome someone into our dispensary team in our busy practice, to play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. This part-time role is for 16.5 hours a week, working days Monday and Friday.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

Processing all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions, as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses, where appropriate, in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme;

Ensuring that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions, to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor;

Collecting all due prescription charges and ensuring that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient;

Processing hospital letters;

Processing dossette boxes;

Managing the ordering of stock and stock control;

Preparation of monthly returns to the Prescription Pricing Bureau;

Answering and dealing with dispensary phone enquiries;

Monitoring patients' exemption statuses;

Sorting and disposing of unwanted/returned medication;

Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery, as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager.

Previous experience in a medical setting;
