As Apprentice Chef, you will assist the Chef and train to skillfully produce a variety of good quality food dishes to a high standard of preparation, production and presentation.
To support the Head Chef in the achievement of profitability in line with the forecast and GP.
Maintain the highest culinary standard whilst on duty by following the menu specifications as set by the Head Chef.
Storage, preparation, production and presentation of all foods in line with the customer expectations and those of the group.
Consistent provision of high quality food preparation and presentation for all customers.
Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient delivery of food and flexibility to changes required by customers.
Assist in the preparation of colleague meals as instructed.
Ensure the cleanliness of all food preparation and storage areas to the highest set standards,
Maintain a proactive awareness of Health and Safety standards.
Carry out all reasonable requests made by the Head Chef, his deputy and other team leaders to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.
Work professionally and with a positive attitude as part of the kitchen team.
Hours of work - 40 hours per week, 5 days a week with one college day. Times of working to be discussed. Working hours will vary and include evenings, weekends, public holidays and shift work.
Qualifications & Skills required - Maths and English at GCSE grades A-C preferred (or equivalents) although a positive attitude and a willingness to work towards equivalent qualifications is equally as important. You need to be passionate about food and have a strong desire to work in the catering hospitality industry.
Training via City College Norwich leading to a City & Guilds Level 2 Principles of Professional Cookery (Knowledge and Competency modules), City & Guilds Level 2 Professional Cookery, Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1 over a 12-18 month period.
