We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Support Team Lead / Technical Services Representative to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our Derby site Support Team, ensuring seamless coordination and top-notch technical support for our clients.

It's a full-time permanent role based out in Derby, UK.

What you will be doing:

As the Support Team Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Derby site Support Team, coordinating closely with both the end user and client management. Your role will involve both providing and overseeing onsite technical support, ensuring comprehensive shift coverage, and promptly escalating any issues to the Manager of Support as needed.

Responsible task prioritization, secondment coordination, and support of team member performance reviews.

Supervising technical onsite support and managing critical spares for system hardware.

Setting priorities and tasks for the Support Team at the Derby site and Calibration Laboratory.

Addressing daily customer requirements, tracking and resolving issues, and providing feedback to customers and design authorities.

Monitoring facility calibration status, implementing revised procedures, and ensuring hardware configuration control.

Using tools to monitor system performance, providing feedback to design departments, and continuously improving the support process.

Maintaining training and competency records, analyzing customer queries, and preparing status reports.

Utilizing MDS administration systems for issue tracking and adhering to company standards and procedures.

Understanding and addressing emerging customer needs, offering technical and business solutions.

Coaching, mentoring, and training colleagues as required.

Minimum of five (5) years' experience working with instrumentation and control systems, or in a calibration laboratory management role

University Degree, or equivalent, in Engineering

Exceptional English communication skills (both oral and written)

Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products.

Experience of the following:

Instrumentation and measurement systems

Measurement principles

Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Vibration measurement etc.

Gas turbine engine test process

Environmental management

Continuous improvement or business process development activities

Experience with gas turbine test facility.

An understanding of the ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards.
