Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Youth Engagement Co-ordinators to join our team on a 20-hour fixed term contract until April 2026, regular working hours are between 3pm-9pm, flexible arrangements available. The role is to provide youth interventions in the form of youth clubs/hub, outreach/detached work, and responsive youth sports intervention sessions which are in identified areas across Derbyshire and Derby City.

Through the use of sport and mentoring, the postholder will build positive relationships and support students to achieve their goals and access positive pathways. You will develop plans of support and workshops that develop resilience and life skills, along with designing and executing sports lessons to contribute to the school curriculum and behaviour intervention strategies.

To be successful in this role you will possess demonstrable experience of working with secondary aged students with SEN and social, emotional and mental health challenges, together with experience of mentoring people over long periods of time. Monitoring and evaluation of interventions and projects is a key aspect of the role, therefore prior experience in this activity is essential, along with excellent communication skills and knowledge and understanding of issues affecting the lives of young people and their education, to inform and evolve interventions.

DCCT Grade 2: £21,368.72 - £24,656.21 (pro rata) per annum (candidates will normally be offered a starting salary towards the bottom of the range), In return we can offer:
