Full Job Description

  • To undertake welding duties to maintain a fleet of vehicles, plant and skips ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum

  • Undertake maintenance work through various methods of welding such as MIG, TIG & ARC and to ensure work is of a high quality at all times.

  • Produce and interpret technical drawings.

  • Undertake fabrication duties to produce various required items such as catwalks, steps, skips and buckets.

  • Adhere to Company and legislative H&S procedures at all times.

  • Production of RAMS for all works undertaken.

  • Refurbishment of wear material on shredders.


  • The training you will be getting

  • The learner will be studying the General welder (arc processes) Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.

  • Day release to West Suffolk College.

  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

    Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Initiative, Team working, GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 4-9) Essential
