Full Job Description

As a volunteer Independent Visitor (IV), you will become a reliable and consistent point of contact for a child in care who has limited or no family contact.

IV's visit their matched child or young person either at home, or somewhere agreed, on a regular basis and enjoy an activity together such as; (bowling, football, park, or rock climbing).

Often Independent Visitors are the only person in a child or young person's life that is not paid to be there.

We work with children and young people across the county who are waiting to be matched

Making a positive difference to the life of a child or young person is an amazing feeling, but by volunteering as an Independent Visitor you'll also:

· make new friends and create unforgettable happy, fun experiences

· attend training and regular support meetings with your volunteer IV Coordinator

· have all of your expenses covered

We're looking for volunteers of all ages and from all walks of like to be part of our Herefordshire Independent Visiting service. You will visit a young person monthly for a few hours and all expenses will be reimbursed. You will need to be able to drive and have access to a car and to be able to make a minimum of 2 years commitment., If you are able to spare a few hours once a month for a minimum of 2 years, and enjoy the company of young people can empathise, be supportive and be able to have fun! This could be the role for you.
