Full Job Description

We are seeking 5 volunteers based in Teesside, there is no specific location due to it being a hybrid role with various offices based in Teesside if office work is needed.

The days and hours are flexible to suit the successful applicants but please note there will be no evening or weekend working., We have an exciting opportunity to join Humankind as a Volunteer Translator, supporting people across Teesside. If you are fluent in English and either Polish, Panjabi, Urdu or Arabic then this could be the role for you. This role provides the opportunity to volunteer in a support based role, utilise your attention to detail and practice integrity. You will volunteer alongside our team of navigators, translating for people during appointments, meetings or in writing.
The main duties will include:

  • Translating verbal and written information from English to either Polish, Panjabi, Urdu, or Arabic.

  • Attending meetings and appointments with the person, this may be in person, online or by phone to translate.

  • Making and submitting weekly case notes.

  • Willing to attend and complete relevant training

  • Interested in being part of the mission and vision of Humankind

  • Professional and to maintain boundaries, adhere to Humankind policies, engage in supervision.
