Full Job Description

Visiting Music As Visiting Music Teacher you will work
alongside our music department at St
Christopher School to ensure that the
Teacher - Piano highest standards of high-quality piano
instruction to students of all ages and levels,
from beginners to advanced, including
post-Grade 8., Ł Plan and deliver engaging and effective piano lessons tailored to individual student needs
and learning styles;
Ł Teach fundamental techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and repertoire appropriate to
students' skill levels;
Ł Inspire and motivate students to develop their musical abilities and foster a love for music;
Ł Prepare students for performances, examinations and competitions as required;
Ł Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their
development;
Ł Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and performances;
Ł Preparing students for the ABRSM, RSL or Trinity graded examinations, GCSE, A Level
performances where necessary;
Ł Producing a weekly timetable on the school's system and keeping a weekly register;
Ł Liasing with parents and the Directors of Music regarding pupil progress as necessary.

All Visiting Music Teachers have a responsibility and duty of care to safeguard and promote the
welfare of pupils. Visiting Music Teachers must be aware of the systems within the School which
support safeguarding and must act in accordance with the School's Safeguarding & Child
Protection Policy and Code of Conduct Policy. Visiting Music Teachers will receive appropriate
child protection training which is regularly updated.

children and young people;

safety and wellbeing;

and procedures;
Ł Ensure the highest degree of confidentiality and data protection of all material.

Ł Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Ł Strong knowledge of music theory;
Education, Piano Performance etc; Ł Excellent verbal communication skills;
Ł Proven experience teaching piano to students of all ages and proficiency levels, including theŁ Ability to create a positive and supportive
learning environment;
essential ability to teach beyond Grade 8 level; Proficiency in teaching classical, jazz, andŁ Organisational skills to effectively plan lessons
