Full Job Description

We are looking for a Utilities Project Manager to work in our Port of Dover site. reporting to our Road Structures and Utilities Programme Manager, you will have responsibility for a number of utilities projects, both new and ongoing. These are primarily focussed upon water and wastewater.

The range of civil utility infrastructure projects includes both large, complex projects and some with smaller scope. Most are crucial to the delivery of the Port's Capital Investment Plan.

Your experience as a Utilities Project Manager will be important. These projects will be delivered in a live operational Port environment. They require a collaborative approach with framework consultants/contractors, construction contractors, operational teams and multiple stakeholders in the Port estate.

Your role as Utilities Project Manager is to ensure that a number of projects are successfully managed through their complete life cycle. They should have a solid strategic objective, scope, commercial/procurement plans and suitable resource plans. This should bee developed in a collaborative manner across stakeholder groups. Effective collaboration with supply chain and other stakeholders plus your technical competence in the design and build process are all essential.

  • Ideally hold a BSc/BEng or above in appropriate related technical discipline (Infrastructure/Civils/MEICA) or equivalent qualification/experience

  • Project Management Qualification from APM or alternative relevant professional organisation or demonstratable project management experience and a willingness to progress towards MAPM

  • Proven experience of managing and delivering civil utility infrastructure (water/wastewater bias) projects from inception through feasibility, design and implementation to project completion utilising the NEC suite of contracts, with a good knowledge of current legislation, technical standards and specifications

  • Proficient user of MS Office and MS Project

  • Demonstrable understanding of CDM Regulations and relevant Health & Safety legislation

  • UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
