Full Job Description

This Role is an ongoing fulltime placement opportunity within the fast paced care of the Urology department. This role would be predominantly based in Harlow, Essex with the opportunity to work extra shifts across the Trusts' other sites and any of our partner Trusts.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide advice and treatment to a variety of patients presenting with urological problems

  • Participate in the on call urology rota

  • Undertake regular ward rounds

  • Take part in audit activities

  • Be involved in teaching and training the Urology junior doctors.

  • The department's training programme includes:

  • A weekly department meeting on a Thursday morning. This includes a journal club and case presentations.

  • A basic surgical trainee course on a Friday afternoon. All of the Consultants participate in providing some of the teaching sessions

  • Participation in clinical audit and research for department is encouraged

  • Rotation between Urology Consultant theatre lists to further operating skills

    The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.


  • We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop's Stortford and Epping. Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.

  • Days per week: Monday-Friday/ weekends or various ad hoc shifts available every day of the week

  • Shift pattern: 9:00-17:00, on-going,

  • Hours per week: 20-50 hours available

  • Start date: ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts

  • Rate of pay: £55-£65 per hour

  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies, Competitive pay rates - work this week, get paid next week
