A C Bacon Engineering Ltd are also proud holders of the Royal Warrant of Appointment as a tradesman to The Queen for the manufacture of steel-framed buildings.

The role: we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Estimator to join our commercial team. As a Trainee Estimator, you will play a supportive role in the day-to-day running of the estimating department, ensuring that it runs smoothly with deadlines met under direction from either the Senior Estimator or senior management team. You will have a keen eye for detail, be able to work as part of a team, be highly organised with excellent time management skills, have strong numerical acumen, and proficient oral and written abilities.

The Responsibilities of the role: the main responsibilities of the role will include, but not necessarily be limited to: -

To ‘log’ and administer the receipt of ITTs under the direction of the Senior Estimator.

Provide full support and assistance to the Senior Estimator and commercial department as required / requested.

Work closely with all members of staff to ensure the smooth running of the department and business.

Gather and prepare documentation for the Senior Estimator, in a timely fashion, as directed.

Interpret drawings and documentation effectively.

Produce precise ‘take-offs’ and schedules.

Undertake basic Estimating functions.

Additional duties as required.

Attend meetings to support the Senior Estimator as, and when, required.

What you will need: the successful candidate will, ideally, have previous experience within the structural steelwork industry, although this is not essential, as full in-house training will be given. The role will ideally suit an ambitious individual who has both the willingness, patience, and dedication to learn and is committed to fostering a career with one of Norfolk’s leading structural steelwork manufacturers.
