Full Job Description

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: MPR/UPR (£30,000 to £46,525)

Start date: 1st September 2024

As a popular and successful school we are always excited to strengthen our staffing team and increase our curriculum choices for students.

As well as our popular GCSE Design Technology, Food Nutrition and A Level Product Design courses we offer Level 1 & 2 Engineering Design, Level 3 Engineering and a Level 3 Food course. We also have a specialist STEM pathway for students in Years 7, 8 and 9.

Therefore, we are looking to employ a recently qualified or experienced teacher or instructor with design, technology, food or engineering expertise. This post could be either part-time or full-time.

The post will involve teaching courses to match the strengths of the successful candidate.

In September 2015 the school moved into an award-winning new building, where Technology & Engineering are taught in specialist rooms. The team is very supportive, well resourced and expectations for students are high.

Thomas Gainsborough School is a consistently high performing, well resourced, and truly comprehensive school, with a firm belief in excellence for each and every student, placing students at the heart of their curriculum. You can find out more about the school at www.tgschool.net

The school continues to invest in high quality professional development and provides a range of employee benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for any teacher to develop their practice and continue their career progression.

The school is located just south of Sudbury in Suffolk and is within easy reach of Colchester, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.

Many of our staff work flexibly in different ways including part-time working. For this role we are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours of flexible start and end times. Please talk to us at the interview stage about the flexibility you would like and we will explore what's possible for this role.

The salary will be discussed at the interview, and depends on qualifications and experience of suitable candidates. Consideration of a TLR will be given for someone to take responsibility for the delivery of engineering qualifications.
