Full Job Description

The Beazley tax function is currently 7 people, comprised of the group head of tax, an indirect tax manager, two direct tax managers, an employment tax manager and two tax assistants. This role is a replacement for one of the direct tax managers and reports to the group head of tax. The purpose of the role is to ensure Beazley meets its direct tax compliance and reporting obligations and ensure transactions and structuring are as tax efficient as possible whilst consistent with, and complementary to, the commercial goals and tax strategy of the organisation. There is flexibility around the exact requirements of the role depending on how the strengths of the candidate fit within the existing team. Beazley has a global tax engagement with Deloitte who prepare and submit all our tax returns as well as support around tax reporting.

  • Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by your line manager, the Culture & People or assurance teams (compliance, risk, internal audit) and ensure you keep up to date with developments in these areas. This may include, amongst others, Beazley's underwriting control standards, Beazley's claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management.

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups., Managing reporting in relation to P2 and CbC.

  • Managing tax reporting to Lloyd's.

  • Oversee submission of corporation tax returns for the group.


  • Tax reporting for entity and consolidated financial statements.

  • Ensuring TP documentation is kept up-to-date.

  • Tax planning and advisory work as needed.

  • Ad hoc tax or accounting tasks.

  • To comply with relevant Beazley procedures and policies.

    Must be able to work as part of a team.

  • Computer skills - Excel/MS Office.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proactive, self-starter, seeks continuous improvement.

  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise.
