Full Job Description

Rate of pay- £13ph. Minimum 10 hours per week Mon-Fri (term time - 3.30-5.50pm). Minimum 25 hour per week (during the school holidays) Flexible weekend work to be agreed and discussed in advance (ideally 5hours every other weekend)We can be flexible and discuss options if interested in becoming T's carer Petrol and expenses incurred while taking T out into the community will be covered. The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)An Enhanced DBS check will be required.

What You Would be Doing:
T needs a carer after school, ideally every weekday for 2 hours, with weekend and holiday work also available. This role would involve ensuring T has an evening meal after school or lunch/snacks during the day in the school holidays. We are looking for someone that can supervise T to ensure he is playing safely, to ensure his needs are met and to play with his games and toys with him to keep him entertained. During the school holidays some short, focused communication, sensory and attention-based activities would be desirable to ensure he is continuing with some learning activities. These can be discussed in advanced. Also, for T to have some regular time away from the family home that will enable him to increase in confidence and skills in accessing the community. He enjoys going to soft-pay, trampoline parks, outdoor play parks, to the supermarket and to McDonalds for a treat. T loves to play in the garden and will have access to a trampoline, swing and climbing frame
and hot tub at home, in addition to a number of sensory resources for indoor use.

Someone who has experience in supporting young people with ASD/ADHD, either in a formal setting, in the community or from personal experiences. It is important that you have a good understanding and experience in ASD/ADHD and be able to de-escalate any situations that may arise. You should enjoy being active and have the skills to give T support with building his confidence & self-esteem & promoting independence. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high-quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. You will be a car owner/driver - you must have a checkable driving license with business use insurance.
