Are you ready to play a pivotal role in supporting our military community? We're seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor to join our team at HMS Excellent Whale Island and the Defence Diving School (DDS) on Horsea Island, Portsmouth. As a versatile and customer-focused professional, you'll be at the heart of ensuring the smooth operation of critical logistics processes.

As the lead Subject Matter Expert in logistics, your role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities. Whether it's managing Low Value Purchase (LVP), overseeing general administration, or conducting loss investigations, you'll be at the forefront of promoting best practices and ensuring the delivery of contracted requirements to the highest quality standards. Your commitment extends to completing internal checks, maintaining controls, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Additionally, you'll play a crucial part in supporting the development of the delivery team, optimising their performance, and proactively mitigating risks. As the Supply Chain Supervisor, you'll leverage the Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) system in alignment with current tri-service regulations. Your tasks will also involve raising purchase orders through the Contracting, Processing & Finance (CP&F) system (with training provided), addressing purchase order queries, and finalising requisitions for indirect materials.

Building effective relationships with stakeholders and championing customer service excellence will be integral to your success. Furthermore, your commitment and adherence to Health and Safety procedures and legal requirements will contribute to a secure working environment.

As the business evolves, you'll adapt and take on additional tasks as directed by your Line Manager, ensuring that you remain agile and responsive to emerging needs.

The ideal candidate for this role brings a wealth of administrative experience, having effectively operated in various administrative environments. Their proficiency with MS Office applications reflects their IT literacy. Demonstrated success in delivering quality service to customers underscores their customer-facing excellence. Their adaptability allows them to swiftly adjust to changing requirements and deadlines. Ideally, they hold a good standard of education, equivalent to a grade C in English and Mathematics. Additionally, they are open to occasional local travel for absence cover. While familiarity with the MOD Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) stores accounting applications is desirable (training can be provided), possessing a Full UK Driving Licence is considered advantageous but not essential.,

  • MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.

  • Proof of right to work in UK essential.
