Full Job Description

This role will give you the chance to play a key role on ground-breaking and high-profile defence projects with values in the hundreds of millions. You'll be part of an industry-leading team, working with Marshall and other major defence stakeholders and Primes.

The role will be supervising and working a 4x4 shift pattern.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver surface preparation and finishing of all aircraft and components.

  • Deliver all health, safety, environmental and airworthiness regulations.

  • Deliver all works within company procedures to ensure compliance with requirements associated with the role, e.g., tool control, document control, system updates and certification.

  • Maintain all equipment and dedicated paint preparation and application areas to the required standard.


  • Tasks:
  • Complete coating removal tasks allocated by supervisor/team leader to support inspection of aircraft and aircraft components.

  • Complete surface refinishing tasks allocated by supervisor/team leader to support recovery of aircraft and aircraft components.

  • Accurately record data as described by tasks or associated manual.

  • Complete checks as required by the business documentation e.g., PPE & tool checks etc.

  • Attend relevant training or meetings as specified by the management team.

    High degree of understanding of surface finishing and inspection techniques

  • High degree of understanding of aviation paint coating systems

  • High degree of understanding of aircraft and their technical data sets

  • High degree of understanding of various application methods i.e., Airless, Air assisted etc.

  • Detailed knowledge of aviation manuals

  • Basic quality assurance knowledge

  • Computer literate (MS Office)


  • Education:
  • Certificate of training from a recognised paint manufacturer, major distributor, airline, or a City & Guild / Apprenticeship qualification in any paint field. Essential

  • Proof of any previously held inspection training. Highly desirable

  • Certificates for previous MEWP's, EWIS, FOD, EASA etc. training. Highly desirable

  • Approved Aeronautical Engineering apprenticeship (Covering trim & aircraft interiors) or equivalent (level 3). Desirable
