You may already be in a pastoral support role or you may be a teacher looking to specialise in pastoral work. Either way, we are looking for a skilled and confident person with the commitment, experience and character required to uphold our high standards and fully support teachers in ensuring that students are ready to learn.

This is a key role for a non-teaching Student Support Manager to support our commitment to the highest standards of pastoral care for the students we serve.

You will work under the direction of the Senior Pastoral Lead, to provide excellent pastoral support for students, lead and co-ordinate the patrol rota and provide targeted 1:1 mentoring for students who are frequently struggling to engage with their classroom learning.

This is a role that involves patrolling the school site throughout the day engaging with students and reacting to situations that emerge. It would suit somebody who enjoys being around school in the heart of matters, using their skills and understanding of social and emotional barriers to apply techniques that reset behaviours in a calm manner.

You will equally be at home analysing the patrol logs, identifying concerning patterns in behaviour for individual children or lessons where patrol is regularly called to. You will then liaise with the appropriate staff to ensure intervention is in place for individual students or organise the patrol rota and communicate with staff on the patrol rota to ensure these lessons are supported.

There is a strong commitment to pastoral care at our school and you will work in a team of four other Student Support Managers and work closely with five Heads of Year.

Our school is underpinned by its Christian values of Caring, Learning and Succeeding. These palpably define the culture of the school. We test all we do through the lens of what is right for each child.

You will hear us use the phrase 'ruthlessly compassionate' which means each and every day we have the resolve, commitment and highest of expectations to do the right thing for every child, because every child has the right to an exceptional education.

We have a high-quality curriculum and a values-driven leadership team. In applying for this role, you could be part of our exciting journey towards excellence.
