Streets Chargehand

We are currently seeking a working Charge Hand to support the area Team Leader in ensuring the satisfactory day to day operation of the general streets service.

This role is primarily focused on undertaking a hands-on operational role on Streets however will involve working closely with all the teams, providing guidance whilst on site and monitoring tasks to ensure that service standards are always maintained.

In this role you will work with your team leader in ensuring that the service delivery and monitoring of standards are being achieved and will be required to support and undertake additional responsibilities in the absence of the allocated team leader.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

• Ensuring high quality of service delivery within the works is undertaken


• Day to day planning and allocation of the available employees, equipment and materials


• Day to day supervision of the workforce


• Completion of daily work sheets to meet the KPI's reporting process


• Making routine site inspections to assess work requirements and checking the quality of work meets agreed standards or specifications


• Drive various vehicles within the scope of an appropriate license


• Carry out basic care and maintenance to plant. Tools and equipment


• Report and safety concern, near misses or defects on plant/ equipment immediately on the VRC application


• Ensure daily checks on vehicles and equipment are carried out and recorded in the VRC application


• Be on a call rota to cover supervisory and operational duties as required for the city centre operation
  
  Has previous experience in streets cleansing operations


• Experience in the use of a wide range of vehicles and street cleaning equipment


• Excellent verbal communication skills


• PC and technological skills and knowledge
