Full Job Description

Take instruction from the sales team and assist them with the development/production of engineering drawings.

- Visit customers' sites to carry out surveys.

- Design and draw a variety of jobs from small components through to large structures.

- Produce detailed and accurate engineering drawings.

- Communicate with the design team to share ideas and come up with solutions to problems.

- Communicate with the administration team to procure materials.

- Liaise with suppliers to procure materials, laser cut components etc. in a commercial way.

Grove Engineering Services Limited is a long established company based in Corby, providing engineering assistance to the food, print and waste industries, in and around the local area. We are looking for a motivated individual, with a keen eye to detail and planning, to join our team, on a full-time, permanent basis with an immediate start, working between the hours of 8.00AM and 5.00PM, Monday to Friday.

As a key member of the office based team, you will use our SolidWorks drawing package, to design and draw bespoke solutions and liaise with our customers, whilst developing your own skills and experience by working alongside a small team of design engineers.

The ideal candidate will have a good general understanding of mechanical engineering principles and be proficient in the use of the SolidWorks drawing package. Experience using the parts, assemblies and drawings sections is essential, with an understanding of the sheet metal and weldment features, along with some AutoCAD being advantageous.

The salary will be dependent on experience and skills.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to be:

- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers.

- Proficient in the use of SolidWorks, including the Sheet Metal and Weldment features.

- Able to produce detailed and accurate engineering drawings.

- Able to visit customers' sites to measure and produce sketches.

- Able to use the Microsoft Office suite.

- Have good time management to ensure that tasks are completed on time.

- Have good attention to detail to ensure minimal mistakes.

Attributes that will be beneficial, but not essential to the role are:

- Ability to manage and plan a project from initial inquiry, through to completion/installation.

- Have knowledge on British Standards with regards to design principles around access, edge protection and machine guarding.

- Experience working in the food industry.
