Full Job Description

Our goal is to make engaging, novel digital experiences that are performant, accessible, and secure.
Our tech stack includes React, Next.js, GraphQL, REST API, Tailwind, Gitlab, Jest, Cypress, Axe, Axios, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
We collaborate using Figma, Miro, Trello, Jira and Teams.
Much of the work is conducted within one of five cross-functional product teams, consisting of developers, UX, designers, content authors and product managers. They are collaborative teams, with each member working alongside one another, devising, and implementing a solution for the challenge being addressed. The output spans multiple digital products, including websites, web apps and other customer-facing interfaces.
We work within a hybrid work model, supporting a combination of work-on-site / work-from-home as arranged by each product team.
You'll find a culture that is inclusive, diverse, supportive, and fun. You will have opportunities to connect with the other communities in the museum, such as scientists, researchers, educators, and more. You'll have access to both the rich heritage and the modern purpose that the museum embraces and promotes.

We are looking for someone who has:
Significant commercial experience using React frameworks such as Next.js, Tailwind and Jest.
Significant commercial experience building, updating, and optimizing React components.
Experience building and working with React component packages.
The ability to provide oversight of technical delivery, overseeing developers with different specialisms and varying levels of experience.
Experience in taking hands-on responsibility for delivery of software solutions, covering design, prototyping, implementation, testing and ongoing support.
The ability to take responsibility for maintaining standards and quality in software production and delivery.
Experience in mentoring less experienced developers.
A spirit of collaboration, a thirst to improve your knowledge, a respect of your team members, and a desire to leave a positive impact on the world.

We offer a wide variety of training initiatives and opportunities to build skills. Investing in staff development is important to us, and we are ambitious about helping staff to grow and fulfil their potential.
Affordable membership to the Civil Service Sports Council which offers a range of benefits including an extensive list of special offers and reduced entry fees at a selection of cinema chains, theme parks, theatres, retailers and supermarkets. It also provides entry to up to 300 English Heritage sites and other national treasures. For more details, visit https://www.cssc.co.uk
Membership to our Sports and Social Association (for a small fee), which includes access to our in-house gym and clubs such as football, softball, table tennis and tennis and classes in Middle Eastern dance, yoga and Tai Chi
