Full Job Description

Channels and Choices was established in 2005. It was founded by a group of Qualified Social Workers who had become increasingly frustrated with the quality of children's services when placing young people. From that time Channels & Choices has developed in to a centre of excellence in therapeutic child care services. Channels and Choices Therapeutic Community comprises of 7 children's residential homes, a DfE registered school, a therapeutic fostering service and a resident therapy team. Currently graded Good with Outstanding Features at the last Ofsted Inspection in 2022
In December 2011 Channels and Choices opened The Sallygate School. This is a school for children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) needs. The school curriculum caters for key stages 2, 3 and 4 and has a high level of staff to pupil ratios to ensure that each individual child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. The school offers a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum blended with the National Curriculum.
The school works alongside the resident therapy team, to help young people work through difficult emotional and behavioural difficulties, which often present as extreme barriers to their learning.

Channels and Choices specialise in working with children who have experienced trauma, most will have attachment difficulties. We create a secure base for all the children in our care and we focus on achieving seamless transitions so that children can be part of a loving and nurturing family.

The post is for a full time permanent Senior School Administrator, working 37.5 hours per week and is based within our Education team in Southeast Kent. We offer a competitive salary range of £25,000 - £28,000 per annum. We are looking for a skilled, experienced and enthusiastic person to fulfil the role of a senior school administrator, working closely with the Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership Team, attending to their administration needs alongside providing reception duties and general office support to the school. To line manage and supervise any other administration staff employed in the school. To be an effective and efficient team member contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the school and the organisation overall. The post holder is primarily based in and supports the school, but forms part of a wider administrative team supporting the organisation as a whole.
