Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to gain or extend your clinical experience of metabolic medicine in the unique and supportive environment of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The primary focus of the post will be supporting the clinical activities of the unit. As a valued member of the team, you will be included in educational and training activities, as well as research.

The post is available for a fixed term of 12 months with the possibility of extension. The post is most suitable for someone who wishes to consolidate their previous experience/training in Metabolic Medicine. MRCPCH (or equivalent) is essential. The post is not recognised for training

The post-holder will be based on the metabolic unit and will work as part of a team covering the clinical aspects and day-to day running of the Metabolic Medicine service. The post holder will be working along with a team of paediatric / metabolic trainees.

The Clinical Fellow will function at the level of a senior registrar and will be responsible for the management and care for children and young people with inherited metabolic disorders. This will include inpatient activity at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital as well as outpatient clinics held at St Mary's Hospital. There may be an opportunity to attend clinics at outreach sites.
