The Business: Operate within a vibrant and fast paced design and delivery sector, engaged in a variety of multi-disciplinary architecture projects and frameworks. Their projects encompass diverse architectural works and large scale projects ranging from further education and leisure facilities to hospitals, later living villages, large scale flatted residential developments and office spaces.


The Role: As a Senior Architect, you’ll lead a number of high profile projects, primarily across the education sector of the studio. Your responsibilities will include overseeing design progress against schedule and budget, managing design sub contractors and project teams, facilitating constructive reviews and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with various internal functions and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee design progress, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Review and recommend approval/disapproval on design change orders.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for progress reporting and coordination.
  • Sign off on design and technical drawings, assisting the wider team as needed with creation of these.
  • Coordinate design submissions for review and approval.
  • Identify and address changes in scope, risks and opportunities in design and construction interface.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including CDM regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years post ARB qualification experience working in the education sector – ideally higher and further education facilities but experience in primary and secondary schools will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of DFE working practices and the contractors framework.
  • Familiarity with design delivery processes and commercial engagement.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and roles/responsibilities of designers and principal contractors across project life cycles.
