Full Job Description

  • You're an experienced Account Director looking for the next step, or an established Senior Account Director looking for a new challenge.

  • You've delivered numerous events and brand experiences, but now are happy to let someone else do the doing so you can focus on pitching to win new business, and building relationships with existing clients to unlock new opportunities. This is not a delivery role - it is new business and growth focused - you'll need to be happy with revenue targets.

  • You're a thinker. You possess the ability to look at a clients brief from multiple angles, engage the right stakeholders (internally and externally) and come up with the optimal solution to a challenge.

  • You're not afraid to interrogate and ask questions to get under the skin of a brief or opportunity - you know the right questions to ask and when, to enable us to provide the best possible solution.

  • You are driven by the high that winning new business brings. You love pitching, and can pull together proposals that will blow competitors out of the water.

  • Your written and verbal presentation skills are second to none - you know how to read a room, you're confident, you listen, you respect others' opinions and know how to deliver a pitch that could win an Oscar.

  • You add strategic input (alongside our Planner) to elevate our pitch submissions. They're Always Excellent, nailing the brief and surpassing our clients expectations to ensure we deliver impact every time.

  • You're not afraid to say no, and you know when and how to deliver the message. We do not sell our clients things they do not need, and we are not afraid to use our experience to lead and inform them., Taking client briefs and interrogating them, asking the right questions to get the information we need to pull together a compelling solution.

  • Leading pitches with support from our Creative, Content and Projects (Producers) teams as required. This includes driving the response forwards, pitch timelines, pitch R&Rs, making sure we are hitting client objectives and formulating KPIs.

  • Managing internal stakeholders and delivering feedback in a timely and respectful manner.

  • F2F pitch presentation and Q&A.

  • Completion of tender documentation.

  • Negotiating contracts and MSAs.

  • Nurturing leads from the Marketing team with robust keep in touch strategies and content.

  • Proactive approaches to potential clients.

  • Always on the hunt for new opportunities from new and existing clients.


  • Client management
  • Build strong relationships with our clients, mapping out strategic account plans to stimulate growth - guiding and assisting your team to do the same.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership for nominated accounts, ensuring client revenue targets are met.

  • Ensure our budgets are competitive and commercially sound - offering excellent value to our clients, whilst meeting internal targets.

  • Regularly reporting on revenue, profit and other key metrics against targets.

  • Work with our Marketing Team on joint Sales and Marketing strategies and campaigns.

  • Actively monitor our client feedback and work out what's gone wrong if we haven't scored a 10 out of 10 and use the learnings to shape future process.

  • Working closely with the Projects team, who are responsible for delivering and executing the won business, ensuring strategies are executed and KPIS met, and overall profitability remains.


  • Line Management responsibility of direct reports
  • Regular 1-2-1s and open dialogue, ensuring your report feels supported and has a clear understanding of their roles, responsibilities and measures of success.

  • Following internal people process such as probation reviews and annual appraisals, ensuring timely responses and ensuring engagement in internal surveys.

  • A working knowledge of our People processes, ensuring that your direct reports know where to locate them in Trainual and that they understand to come to you with questions.

  • Being an active and engaged member of the Line Manager community including attending Line Manger meetings and forums and keeping a close eye on the Line Manager teams channels to ensure you are informed of the latest updates from the people team and cascading messages to your reports.

  • Engaging in recruitment for hiring within your team, acting as the Hiring Manger where appropriate and following our standard people processes.

  • Leading in onboarding new team members and collaborating with the People Team to ensure learning plans, required training and support structures are in place.

  • Taking an active interest in your teams health and wellbeing, monitoring workload and reaching out to the People team for support where needed.

  • Playing an active role in managing any issues with performance or conduct.

  • You have a genuine passion for live events with a solid background in working both B2B (ideally large-scale conferences) and B2C (brand activations).

    Event Concept have an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned Senior Account Director to join our team. In this role, the first of its kind, you'll be joining us at a pivotal point in our journey. As the first hire into our newly created agency team, you'll be in at ground level and ultimately responsible for helping us to deliver on our growth targets.
