Full Job Description

To prepare and Assist Accounts information provided by clients to a standard set by the Institute of Chartered Accounts England and Wales, at a level ready for review by accounts manager, with the ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.,

  • Preparation of Sole Trader, Partnerships and Limited Company Statutory Accounts to a level ready for review by Manager and in line with accounting standards

  • Travelling to sites to visit clients' premises if necessary to obtain information to complete accounts

  • Support, assist and coach junior members of the team to ensure accuracy of work and improve knowledge and training. Within the team both in the field and in the office

  • To follow all office required procedures in the delivery of accounts preparation

  • Assisting with the planning & completion of accounts for a wide and varied client portfolio

  • Undertaking a full range of accounts task including bank reconciliations, trade debtors, creditors, payroll reconciliation, Tax computations

  • Assisting with the effective progression and completion of accounts tasks for final Manager and Partner review

  • Working with the Managers to ensure the continued efficiency of the department

  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns

  • Customer Service Delivery - dealing with queries and all forms of correspondence and modes of communications from and to clients

  • Using CCH practice software for Accounts and CCH Business Tax

  • Follow all office procedures and best practice

  • Various ad-hoc duties across the department, This is not an exhaustive list of your duties, and you may be required to carry out other duties and tasks, which may be required for the efficient operation of the business.

  • Experience of working in an accounting practice environment

  • A full driving license and their own vehicle


  • Desirable Qualifications/Skills
  • Ideally technically qualified ACCA / ACA / CTA / AAT /ATT full or part qualified

  • Knowledge of CCH
