Full Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Roofer who will ideally have experience of working within a social housing or local authority environment. You will undertake Roofing & and other trade repairs and maintenance work, to provide high quality, 'right first time', cost effective building services to the business and its customers.

Please be advised that this role is covering our properties based within the East Midlands

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have the ability to undertake associated trade tasks within competency, NVQ2 qualification or equivalent and long term relevant trade experience. You must have a high level of skill in Roofing repairs and replacement works, in addition you should have some other basic skills to complete roofing related works, for replacement timber works, UPVC facia & soffits, felt & single ply flat roofing. Leadwork, pointing and any skills or any other trade.

It is preferable for you to also have a working at height certificate (Tetra or similar) Abrasive Wheel training, PASMA qualification and the ability to read construction drawings.

You will conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimizing damage to the fabric of the property.

You will predominantly be working in a two man team, andwill need a full manual UK driving licence and will either be provided with your own Metworks van or share a van for working hours.

To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete a standard background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, once an offer of employment is made. As standard you will be added to the DBS updating service with a new check being carried out on a 3 yearly basis. The cost of a DBS will be paid for by the organisation.
