You’ll join the European People Experience team as Adviser as the direct point of contact for managers across our European offices – Portsmouth, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Cologne and Switzerland. It’s a busy time for BTS, there’s a lot going on – but that means no two days are the same and you’ll never be bored!

It’s also a People role where we’re not shoved away in a dark corner… you’ll be in the midst of an open plan office and feel like part of the team (we’re not the ‘dreaded HR’ people here), where you’ve got an opportunity to bring about positive change.

Working closely with the Head of PX, the key responsibilities of the role will be:

Regional People Management

  • Partner with managers across the region to help build people management capability and share and implement effective people plans and activities within the organization.

  • Provide People policy guidance and update policies as required in line with local employment legislation.

  • Pay & Benefits
  • Maintain accurate starter, change and leaver information for payroll records.

  • First point of contact for all UK payroll and pension queries & keeping track on monthly changes.

  • Entering the payroll changes into the UK payroll system (Brightpay) on a monthly basis and working with the Finance team to process the necessary reports for HMRC.

  • Process UK pension payments through Aegon, to include adding new entrants and managing changes and leavers.

  • Provide first line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers.

  • Project Work
  • Plans, leads and completes People-related projects in line with the BTS People Strategy.

Proven experience in an HR/People Adviser role or similar HR generalist position is essential.

  • Proven experience of partnering and coaching managers to work out solutions to people challenges.

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law with experience in leading a range of employee relations cases.

  • Regional/global or multi-site experience is desirable, but not essential.

  • Able to work quickly and accurately, you’ll be resilient and able to work in an environment where change is a constant and priorities can shift and change.

  • Well-organised with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • A confident and outgoing approach with an ability to communicate effectively with everyone in the business.

  • Fluency in English is a must, but any language skills in particularly French and/or German would be a big plus!

  • In keeping with the culture of the business and the feel of the office you'll also bring a sense of lightness and fun to work - People Experience are not the policy police in BTS!

  • We are happy to consider part-time hours for this role although we would require a minimum of 4 days per week.
