We have an opportunity to join the Matthew Project as a Recovery Worker within the Great Yarmouth area working as part of the criminal justice team. You will fulfil a key role in a multi-agency project working collaboratively alongside colleagues from statutory and voluntary sector to engage people to make demonstrable changes through to recovery.

You will support people in the community delivering one-to-one and group work at offices of the Matthew Project, partner agency offices, and other venues. You will provide proactive and assertive outreach support and will support the development of a recovery community. The ability to travel is essential.

You will be part of an intensive whole system approach to tackling substance misuse in areas across Norfolk. This project will build on existing work and will look to expand multi-agency partnership working in the local areas to drive sustained health and crime-related outcomes. The overall aim of the project is to reduce the rate of substance-related deaths in Norfolk and reduce the level of substance-related offending in Norfolk.

The Matthew Project is a value driven charity working across East Anglia giving help and hope through programmes with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. We have a vision to reach every part of the community in the most creative, effective, and efficient ways. Through our varied services, young people and adults receive professional advice, information, counselling, support, care, and education. Our values and ethos originate from a Christian perspective, and we seek to employ people of all backgrounds who respect and align with those values, whether from a position of faith or not.

The role will require the successful candidate to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to starting employment.
