Full Job Description

The role of Real Estate Portfolio Lead will handle the Real Estate portfolio, including helping with strategy development, executing transactions and related sourcing activities globally. The Real Estate Portfolio Lead is a specialist in Workplace Solutions and manages project governance and process ownership, making sure that best practice and a uniform global approach are applied to portfolio enhancement, providing the best user experience, financial and strategic value to the business. This role will work closely with the Cross-BU WPS Lead to understand business requirements and then oversee third-party provided Real Estate transaction support to execute against it., Strategy and execution

  • Support the development and delivery of the Real Estate & Facilities strategic plans, goals, and objectives.

  • Drive the adoption of strategic plans at Executive level using in-depth data management, financial analysis, benchmarking, and presentation skills.

  • Create comprehensive global sourcing strategies for category in scope of responsibility, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset and in close collaboration with the Cross-BU WPS Lead

  • Delivery of robust, data-based analyses supporting these opportunities

  • Develop regional opportunities aligned with Capital Markets and Haleon's portfolio emerging needs to assure financial performance of Haleon's assets

  • Be the global expert in the Real Estate category.

  • Ensure global strategies reflect Haleon's sustainability and diversity objectives


  • Benefit delivery
  • Govern the reporting expectations for third-parties including pipeline of activities, expected strategies and expected vs actual savings

  • Oversight of end to end change in the portfolio: spanning strategy development, transaction delivery and fit out. Delivered through 3rd party providers the RE Portfolio Lead will be responsible for the project governance and ownership of the relationship with the relevant senior business leadership

  • Deliver benefits identified in strategies through effective and collaborative strategy execution with the Cross-BU WPS Lead, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), quality, service, cost and innovation

  • Manage the global real estate portfolio including the development of key performance indicators, identification of opportunities, optimization of footprint, maximisation of financial & operational value, and mitigation of risk.

  • Ensure best return on investment across the Real Estate portfolio in both steady state and MA&D activities.

  • Process ownership and best practice standardisation in delivery of real estate

  • As necessary actively lead larger, high profile real estate and capital projects and oversee their due delivery.

  • Ensure financial benefits are managed in accordance with the Procurement Plan and Savings Methodology approach, ensuring business unit and Finance agreement to financial value delivered and transparency on treatment of benefits in the budgeting process


  • Business partnering & stakeholder management in Haleon
  • Influence key global and regional stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended strategies, support execution, and agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted.


  • External supplier relationships
  • Build strategic relationships with key global real estate suppliers and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships.

  • Ensure global and regional considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.

  • Manage the supply base for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process. Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured.

  • Lead all contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance with global suppliers that will allow Haleon to maximize opportunity.

  • Develop and Implement Operational excellence strategies and plans for key global suppliers to drive improvements against KPIs.


  • Supply chain & risk management
  • Transform the supply chain to release value and make Haleon more responsive to business and customer needs - for example in cost control, complexity reduction, simplification, best practice procurement and use of KPIs

    Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
    Preferred Level of Education: Master's Degree
    Area of Specialisation: Real Estate, Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain
  • 5+ years of corporate Real Estate experience across multiple asset classes

  • A proven track record of managing Global Real Estate assets across multiple geographies running end to end asset lifecycle

  • Expert capabilities and knowledge the mechanisms of the capital markets, and real estate finance

  • Expert capabilities and knowledge of real estate, property development and the built environment

  • Ability to think strategically, anticipating the impact of external environment changes on Real Estate approaches and to translate the impact into operational plans that proactively respond to and manage the changes to the benefit of the organisation

  • Skilled at simplifying complex and specialist information for reporting progress on projects to senior stakeholders.

  • In-depth understanding of external environment and supplier relationship models

  • Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmark, financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting)

  • Clear understanding of business value, business priorities, and potential implementation risks

  • Significant experience working in a matrix (global/ regional) business environment.

  • Strong networking skills and a proven ability to build productive and collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners.

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work in partnership with others to drive, implement and support change.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills.

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communications, and influencing skills.

  • Ability to work in high pressure environment, often under tight deadlines.

  • Experience with risk management
