Full Job Description

The operations team has responsibility for the delivery of Vysiion solutions and services to customers and internal projects via teams of project managers, technical architects, consultants and engineering teams. This Project Manager role is critical to the continued delivery of successful projects. The role is responsible for coordinating project tasks and activities, monitoring and maintaining progress, managing the project financial controls, stakeholder management and reporting on key aspects across the project lifecycle.

This is a key delivery role and the holder will be expected to take complete ownership and accountability for the delivery of assigned standard and complex projects, ensuring they are delivered to agreed controls that realise the documented benefits.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Use a high level of knowledge and experience of projects to deliver large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects with the appropriate level of planning and to provide the right balance of agility, predictability and pragmatism.

  • Deliver an effective requirements gathering capability that is aligned to customer and contracted business benefits, minimising the need for unplanned and non-recoverable project extensions.

  • Utilise existing Vysiion project management standards, methodologies and toolkits when establishing and delivering projects, taking opportunities to drive the adoption of improved and new standards for Vysiion.

  • Champion planning, control and the targeted use of PRINCE2 elements to achieve agreed customer and business benefits. Implement project planning techniques, including the creation of project schedules, that assist the delivery team by resolving conflict and removing blockers to expected progress and quality outcomes.

  • Lead change initiation, design, delivery and accountable for successful delivery of change management and associated benefits realisation within assigned projects.

  • Responsible for organising and motivating the project delivery team comprising matrix managed, multi-disciplinary and highly skilled resources.

  • Drive engagement activities to shape and unify the delivery team and customers across projects; building stakeholder buy-in around plans, processes, commitments and change.

  • Report progress, change, issues, dependencies and risks to the senior leadership team and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.

  • Accountable for the delivery and presentation of the monthly project operations and financial report to the senior leadership team and the successful resolution of agreed actions and outcomes.

  • Deliver projects to planned milestones, phases and gates ensuring adherence to Vysiion controls, industry standards and the safety and security of project team members.

  • Responsibility for ensuring a high quality technical outcome for projects and solutions by adhering to project lifecycle phases and underpinning Vysiion standards and best practice frameworks. Provide subject matter expertise.

  • Collaborate with service delivery colleagues to ensure project deliveries are transitioned into the service or support environment in a controlled and anticipated manner that maintains customer expectations and meets contracted metrics.

  • Organise: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities. In order to maintain standards and expectations, projects can be audited with minimal notice.

  • Planning: Determine strategies to move the Operations Team forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results.

  • Issue and Risk Management: Assess risks and issues, work with teams to generate and execute effective mitigation and contingency countermeasures.

  • Quality & Financial Management: Project deliverables must be delivered to a high quality and in alignment with stated financial controls., Working with organisations across local and central government and other government related bodies as well as private industry and the challenges therein.

  • Developing new and unique ways to improve the uptake and adherence of processes and standardisation that leads to economies of scale and increased efficiency levels.

  • Flexibility is required, working outside normal hours, as necessary, to cope with varying situations and workloads.

    Experience of project delivery in a business-to-business setting for a minimum of one year.

  • Experience of managing multi-client environments.

  • Delivery of project financial accounting including EVM., Ideal for a new entrant to project management but looking for their next role to deliver successful outcomes across multiple projects and in a multi-client environment.

  • PRINCE2 Foundation is desirable.

  • Excellent presentation skills, for presenting to customers and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in MS Project and at home with Excel spreadsheets for tracking and forecasting financial spend.

  • Self-motivated and ambitious with energy and enthusiasm to contribute to the continued growth of Vysiion.

  • Demonstrable experience in
