Community Empowerment in Action (CEIA) is a UK based registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. Due to an increase in demand, CEIA seeks to expand its service provisions for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities in the Wellington Area (Telford) by delivering a unique blend of six services to help communities in Wellington (Telford) to rebuild their lives and thrive. The Happy, Healthy, Active Lifestyle projects consists of a health and wellbeing support network, 2x volleyball clubs, swimming club, a cricket project and a football project. Each project will specifically aim to target and benefit young people, men and woman that reside in the College, Arleston, Hadley and Leegomery wards.

We are looking for a self-motivated, community minded facilitatorto support and assist CEIA and the Community Project Coordinator (CPC) in delivering The Happy, Healthy, Active Lifestyle projects. This role has been funded by the Inclusive Community Fund; a £9 million initiative inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Thanks to the Heart of England Community Foundation, West Midlands Combined Authority, United by Legacy, UKGOV and the Commonwealth Games organisers for this incredible opportunity.

This exciting opportunity involves providing direct support to the Community Project Coordinator and to the volunteers to promote the personal, educational, creative and social development of communities in Wellington, by encouraging good mental, health and wellbeing culture amongst participants, by actively engaging them in a number of activities including sport activities or any other activities that improves their wellbeing; to promote community engagement, to provided one-to-one community support, and assist the CPC to deliver daily sessions as per the project delivery plan.

To be successful in this role, your skills and experience will include:

a) a proven track record of assisting with a delivery of a project as a facilitator

b) successful community development and/or engagement work within a culturally diverse community, in particular BAME communities,

c) ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative;

d) ability to travel to different venues in Telford;

e) a flexible and innovated approach to work.
