Full Job Description

Working alongside our dedicated team you will work primarily in Ashvale, our exciting horticultural project set over two acres, where our learners and day clients can access therapy through growing and harvesting vegetables and plants, alongside caring for our on-site chickens. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of plant hygiene, preparation of vegetable beds and daily site maintenance whilst supporting clients to thrive in an outdoor environment. Maintenance includes watering, weeding, checking stock and rotation as well as completing soil association records.

This role will see you work closely with people with learning disabilities and epilepsy enabling them to create an array of items for sale to help raise vital funds for St Elizabeth's. You may also be required to provide personal care to our residents and learners from time to time.

This role offers a unique opportunity to bring your creative skills and enthusiasm to St. Elizabeth's. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills as you will be working as part of a small and friendly team. Experience and a keen interest in Horticulture in a similar role is preferred, but a willingness to roll your sleeves up and get involved, combined with a genuine interest in the people that we support is essential.

Based across 60 acres of beautiful countryside, St Elizabeth's is a charity supporting children, young people and adult day clients with epilepsy and other complex medical conditions.

Over the past 120 years, St Elizabeth's has grown and developed to comprise a non-maintained special School for both boarders and day students, a specialist Further Education College, domiciliary care for College learners, Supported Living in the community, a comprehensive Day Opportunities programme for adult day clients and 24-hour health provision provided by specialist nurses and therapists.
