Production and Distribution Support Operative

We have a new opening in production and distribution to support various tasks within the these departments. Production could include working with both cheese and /or butter and the despatch areas will involve some wrapping, boxing and general work in preparation for the despatch of our products. Hygiene is absolutely critical in everything that we do so strict adherence to all protocols is an absolute given.

Depending on the task, the work can include some heavy lifting, some reaching and some stretching, so to be physically fit with no long standing back or muscular problems is preferable.

Tasks might include:

• Preparation and packing of subscription boxes


• Prepare wholesale orders for collection & despatch


• Wrapping Cheese or Butter Products


• Labelling and/or filling milk bottles


• Barcoding Products and use of IT Systems


• Preparation for Cheese Production


• Cleaning Cheese equipment after production


• Turning cheese, both fresh and mature


• Accurate record keeping


• General cleaning


• Prepare products for markets and farm shop sales


• Deep cleaning


• Assisting with managing the team
  
  Full training and instruction will be given but knowledge and experience in this field is essential.


Good communication skills, including the ability to actively listen to others and clearly relay information

Be physically fit as cheesemaking is demanding and involves some lifting

Enjoy learning and be highly motivated with some knowledge of inspiring a team.,
