Full Job Description

Nailsea School is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physics to join a friendly, supportive school during a time of expansion.

This role would be suitable for Early Career Teachers or more experienced members of staff.

The department currently has 10 full time members of staff. We are supported by an experienced team of technicians, including a physics specialist technician, and have access to both incredible shared lab spaces and teaching classrooms. As we are a fully comprehensive school with Sixth Form, candidates must be able to teach across the ability range from KS3 to KS5.

Students at Nailsea enjoy their science lessons and achieve well at all levels. As a full-time teacher of physics you will have your own teaching classroom, students who are willing to learn, and a supportive faculty who have built fantastic rapport with the student body over the last few years. We teach general science at KS3 and in-specialism only at KS4 and KS5.

The team currently follows these exam boards at KS4 and KS5:

KS3 Curriculum - not exam board linked

KS4 follow AQA Separate or Combined Science (trilogy)

KS5 Biology AQA

KS5 Chemistry OCR A

KS5 Physics AQA

KS5 Forensic and Criminal Investigation

The successful candidate will be:

  • Able to consistently teach inspirational lessons and have excellent subject knowledge.
