Full Job Description

Typical duties
Social:
Accompanying and/or participating when accessing social and leisure activities e.g. cinema, café, walks, shopping in town
Occasional longer journeys
Expanding her horizons by suggesting ideas for experiences/activities/groups etc and encouraging her to try new things. E.g. exploring education, courses and employment too
Working with my daughter to plan where to go together
The above duties will involve driving my daughter in your car
Wellbeing tasks:
Develop a good understanding of my daughters needs and how best to support her.
Encourage but not push her to access activities/experiences.
Support my daughter to develop independent living skills e.g. organising for days out, planning what to take etc

  • The successful applicant will be

    My 19-year-old daughter is looking for a friendly, outgoing, open-minded PA/support worker to help build her confidence and get out and about.

    Although she may come across as quiet and anxious at first, once you get to know her, she can be very chatty and come out of shell. She is a very creative and intelligent person; she loves to draw. My daughter has a whole host of tattoos and enjoys anime and cosplay. She would like someone who can connect on her level.

    She suffers from anxiety and has anorexia, so someone who is non-judgmental who can build a trusting relationship will be important. Experience of working with young people and mental health is required.
    Other Requirements
  • Must be comfortable with pets

  • Must be happy to work in a smoking environment (my daughter smokes outdoors)

  • Someone who is willing to refrain from smoking inside our home.

  • If required, be willing to undertake training for the role

  • Must have a UK driving licence

  • Must have access to own vehicle

  • Other :

  • All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
    Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.,
  • Able to tolerate smoking in the work place (not in the home)

  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

  • Reliable with good time-keeping

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills be a good communicator.

  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
