An exciting opportunity has become available for a Parks Project Officer within the Parks Team at Hertsmere.

This role involves leading on the management of play areas and infrastructure within the Council's parks and open spaces. Following direct inspections or reports from the Contractor or others, the Council's Grounds Maintenance contractors will be instructed to carry out any works required.

This job will include the day to day management of the Bushey Rose Gardener, supervising volunteers at the Rose Garden and managing engagement with all Parks Friends groups.

The post also provides project support to the Deputy Parks & Amenities Manager and the Parks and Amenities Manager for the commissioning, design, procurement and implementation of parks development projects.

A driving licence is essential for this position, as well as the ability to access a range of sites presenting various types of terrain.

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week). We would also consider a job-share.

Our career grade scheme applies to this position, meaning that if the chosen candidate is hired at the lower end of the quoted pay range in this advert, they will be enrolled on an approved course leading to a recognised professional qualification relevant to their post. Approved qualifications for the Parks Project Officers will include a degree in horticulture or urban green space management. They will also follow an agreed training and development programme at work. This scheme enables accelerated pay increases and movement through the Council's pay structure.

If a candidate should already have this qualification and experience, they would be hired towards the higher end of the quoted pay range.
