Operations Manager

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team during a time of exciting transformation. The Royal Institution of Cornwall (RIC) is an independent charity based in Truro and responsible for running Royal Cornwall Museum. We are currently transforming the museum to create a compelling visitor destination, vibrant creative hub, and welcoming community space that will attract over 60k visitors a year.

In this role, we're looking for a pro-active leadership approach and someone who is able to prioritise and help deliver a smooth, safe, and exciting visitor and team experience. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the RIC team towards our strategic ambitions.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring a consistent, inspiring, and rewarding visitor experience


• Supporting the delivery of the capital development project


• Taking responsibility for the health, safety, and security of the museum, our visitors, and the team


• Oversee the ticketing, retail, and reception space to provide a warm and safe welcome for all


• Manage the operations team


• Lead on planned and reactive maintenance


• Take a lead on corporate hire promotion and delivery
  
  Previous experience of managing front of house teams in a public visitor attraction or similar establishment


• A track record of delivering high quality visitor experience


• Line management experience


• Evidence of training and development in health, safety, and security best practice


• Experience of data collection, monitoring and reporting
