Full Job Description

This is an exciting time to join ION where you will be joining a specialist team. As our operational resilience manager you will be responsible for implementing the operational resilience programme across the ION group.
The successful candidate will have a track record and hands experience of implementing and managing Operational Resilience frameworks and embedding across a large multi-national company. Ideally from an financial services background, the successful candidate will have a strong technical background and knowledge of European and global operational resilience regulations.
They will be responsible for management and reporting of all aspects of operational resilience from supporting the mapping of business critical business services and aligning with industry best practice and regional regulatory requirements.
The role holder will work as part of the Operational Resilience function and will contribute to broader resilience/BCP and crisis management work delivered by the Head of Operational Resilience.,

  • Play a leading role in operational resilience for the ION Markets group and supporting critical business processes.

  • Be versed in proactive operational resilience strategies and mapping business critical processes, end to end.

  • Undertake the mapping of ION critical business services within the software tool (Fusion RM)

  • Oversee production of regular operational resilience reports for ION critical functions, that provide data-driven insights to leadership.

  • Drive improvements of operational resilience capabilities across ION Markets through monitoring of critical business services, reporting risks and engaging with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements.

  • Be responsible for the production of action plans and other deliverables, such as resilience gap analysis and risks identified in the critical business processes.

  • Support the development of proactive strategies to mitigate and manage company-wide risks as required, throughout the operational resilience process and framework.

  • Be versed in utilising software to manage operational resilience, mapping of IBS and reporting of resilience status.

  • Contribute to horizon scanning, scenario and strategic risk analysis to help identify, quantify, evaluate and plan for potential future reputation and policy risks within the context of the company strategy and positioning.

  • Collaborate effectively with other senior internal stakeholders with all areas of operational resilience and in particular regulatory developments.

    Has experience in all aspects of operational resilience.

  • Has prior experience with implementing operational resilience programme at a tactical level and developing op res software to align with company requirements.

  • Has hands on experience of implementing Fusion RM BCP planning and resilience modules.

  • Has experience of using Fusion analytics tools to manage, measure and monitor resilience.

  • Has a proven track record of developing and implementing practical resilience processes and frameworks.

  • Has a track record of proactively identifying critical business services and managing the end to end mapping and subsequent risks.

  • Has a track record of developing BCP plan templates and ITDR templates in line with ION critical business requirements.

  • Has deep knowledge of UK and European regulations, e.g. DORA and CP26/23 Operational Resilience requirements for Critical Third Parties.

  • Experienced in designing controls and management of critical third parties for an operational resilience standpoint. Developing reporting status and metrics of crucial vendors.

  • Has experience in ITDR exercise oversight and reporting status of technical recovery, including RTO, RPO and impact tolerance status.

  • Has experience in supporting/training critical business owners in their role and accountabilities.

  • Has experience of working with legal teams, both in-house and external counsel.

  • Has prior experience of interacting with stakeholders from different territories/markets to identify geographical/local risks and support on preparation/management as needed.

  • Possesses excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills; able to listen to and engage effectively with senior network/global leaders during times when emotions and risks are high.

  • Has a proven track record of handling confidential information with sensitivity, integrity and good judgement.
